The Footbed or Orthotic
Description
A footbed or orthotic is an interface between the weight of the body and the sole of the shoe.
A corrected footbed can dramatically influence the body's biomechanics and biochemistry:
- Compression
- Flex
- Stretching
- Resistance
- Sweating
Structure
A Footbed Is Made Up Of Three Components:
- A covering or coating [the part of the footbed in contact with the sole of the foot]
- A base [the part of the footbed in contact with the shoe]
- The corrective elements that are linked and work together within and under the footbed. For example: compensation additions for comfort or for posture.
