A new generation of footwear claims to burn extra calories, correct bad posture and even make you run faster.
With techniques including adjustable insoles and variable-height heels, they are certainly futuristic - but are they any good?
Here Ellie White asks physiotherapist Sammy Margo and podiatrist Mike O'Neill what they think of the so-called wounder shoes.

SpringBoost Shoes - Claim: Trims and tones. Increases the calories you burn and enables you to run faster. Price £79.95. Sammy says: Adds extra dimension to workout but not for everyone. Mike Says: Adjustable insoles help with Achilles problems but sole is like wood. Rating 4.5/10

Masai Barefoot Technology (MBTs) - Claim ones muscles, improving strength, balance and co-ordination. Price £129. Sammy says: Encourage proper walking and work core but no good for workout. Mike says: Make you stand straight and good for easing ankle and foot pain. Rating 8/10
